Odisha PSC Civil Judge Syllabus 2016

Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has issued the latest Syllabus 2016 [Prelims & Mains ] for the 153 empty seats for Civil Judges Written Examinations. For Selecting the Appropriate Candidates, the Authority will conduct the Written Exam.

Announcement Declared For :- OPSC Civil Judge Syllabus & Pattern Of Exam 2016

No. Of Vacant Posts :- 153

Written Exam Date [Prelims]:- 04th  September 2016 [ Approximate ]

Written Exam Date [Mains] :- November 2016 [ Approximate ]

Location :- Odisha State

Selection Process :-  The Selection will be based on accomplishment shown in Preliminary Written Examination, Main Written Examination and Personal Interview.

Preliminary Written Exam Pattern :- The Following will be the Prelims Exam Scheme For the Posts Civil Judge.

There Will be Written Exam Of the Questions containing the pattern of Multiple Choices.

The Exam Paper Will be Comprised Of 100 Marks i.e. There Will be 100 Questions in Paper Of 01 Mark Each.

There Will be Negative Marking for the Wrong Answers i.e. 25 % Marks Will be less for Wrong Answers.

Duration For test will be One and Half Hours i.e. 90 Minutes total.

There Will be Following Subjects, Will be included in the Written Contest in Prelims Exam….

(I)                Constitution Of India

(II)             Code Of Civil Procedure

(III)           Code Of Criminal Procedure

(IV)          Evidence Act

(V)             Indian Penal Code

(VI)          Limitation Act

(VII)        Transfer Of Property ACT

(VIII)     Contract ACT

(IX)          Law Of Succession ( Indian Succession Act and Hindu Succession Act)

(X)            Specific Relief Act.

Qualifying Marks :-  The Candidates Who will succeed the Prelims Exam Will be Called By Commission for Mains Written Exam. The Candidates who have secured not less than 35 Per-centum of marks in case of SC and ST and 40 Per-Centum of Marks in case of other in the Prelims Written Exam.

Mains Written Exam :- There Will be Following Two Compulsory Papers and three Optional Papers in the Mains Written Exam.

The Compulsory papers will carry total 150 Marks and Duration will be Two and Half ( 150 Minutes) Hours.

Each Of Optional Paper will carry 150 Marks With Three Hours ( 180 Minutes ) Duration.

Compulsory Papers Of Main Written Exam :-

Paper I :- General English (150 Marks) :- The Questions Will be asked as pattern given in below segment just like

I  Translation and Retranslation Of Ten Lines Each.

II A Short Essay of About 150 Words.

III  Precis Writing Consisting of 300 Words.

IV  One Passage Of about 500 Words With 5 Questions.

Special Note :- For “ Translation and Retranslation of Ten Lines Each” :- There Will be two passages i.e. One in English to be translated into Odia and another In Odia to be retranslated into English.

Paper II

Procedural LAWS (150 Marks) :- The Code Of Criminal Procedure 1973

The Code Of Civil Procedure 1908.

The Indian Evidence ACT. 1872.

Optional Papers Of Main Written Exam :-

A Candidate may choose any of the three subjects among the Following :-

(i)               Law of Crime and Law of Torts (Total 150 Marks)

(ii)            Personal LAW :- (I) Hindu Law and (II) Mohammedan LAW :- 150 Marks

(iii)          Law Of Property (150 Marks)

(iv)          Law Of Contract (150 Marks)

(v)            Jurisprudence and Constitution Of India (150 Marks)

Qualifying Marks For the Mains Written Exam :- The Commission will call those candidates who have obtained 45 Percentage aggregate and a minimum of 33 Percentage of marks in each paper in the main Written Examination.

Personal Interview  :- The Interview Will be Of Total 100 Marks. In Interview the Questions From National and International Issues and matters of Common Interest in the field of ARTS and science may also be included.
